meet destiny...

G: Hey Destiny! Please introduce yourself and let us know what your work/art practice is.

D: I'm an interior designer with a passion for bringing Indigenous culture and identity into architecture, textiles, and furniture.

G: Is there a specific project that you're currently working on, or that you're particularly excited about?

D: My goal when I first started my business, Indigo Arrows, was to create commercial interior finishes that designers could use in their projects. It took 8 years but now I have a commercial flooring line, locally made furniture, and commercial fabrics that designers are starting to use in their projects. I'm excited to continue to design these products and grow the collections every year.

G: What do you want fans/clients to know about how to access your work?

D: The best way to reach me is through my website. I try my best to keep it updated with all the latest projects and products I'm working on. I'm a full-time interior designer and many of my design service requests come through on our contact page.

G: In the spirit of supporting local businesses and artists, please let us know your thoughts on the following...

-What's your favourite restaurant/cocktail bar to visit in Winnipeg?

D: My husband and I really like going to Bonnie Day in Wolseley. They always come up with fun and creative events that bring you into their beautiful restaurant.

-What's your favourite activity/experience/place to hangout in the city?

D: This year I have been putting in effort to take care more care of my mental health and one way I do that is making time for facials and hair appointments at the Edward Carriere salon. They take good care of me and it makes me slow down every once and while.

-Is there something in Winnipeg or Manitoba that you're excited to visit or participate in for the first time this spring/summer?

D: I'm really looking forward to checking out the Winnipeg Comedy Festival with my husband and friends. I need more laughter and fun in my life this year. I also want to make time to bike to the Forks with my daughters this summer.

thank you so much, destiny!
